We've been informed by the power distribution network operator (SSE Networks) that they need to complete essential maintenance on 18th November between 8am and 4pm (GMT), which will affect both high voltage feeds at the same time. This means that the data center will be operating on generator power.
We do not expect any interruption to service, and so this notification is an “at risk” notification only.
To minimize risk, our providers have taken the decision to bring in additional hire generators to support the data center in the unlikely event of a failure of our existing on-site generators which are at an N+1 level of redundancy. There will therefore be at or above 2(N+1) redundancy for the duration of the maintenance, with power contractors on site to monitor and support the temporary generation and existing on-site generation systems.
